“Chock” is a female graffiti artist hailing from S.W London originally….

I have been using spray cans for 14 years and now teach graffiti skills in schools and youth clubs all over England for the past 6 years.

Paint My Panda is my company named because I could not stop painting pandas! It has developed into a successful business offering workshops and commissioned mural work. I have worked for clients such as Eastpak, The Dogs Trust & Playstation.

My style is influenced by graffiti from New York, London and Amsterdam. I studied fine art at Manchester Met. University. I like to incorporate fine art techniques into my work to give graffiti styles more depth and character. Artists such as Claus Oldenburg, Jeff Koons, Henri Matisse & Franz Marc, have influenced me. I love to paint landscapes and animals and enjoy reading science fiction and watching movies.

Girls On Top is a female graffiti crew started in 2000 to try and help unite the girls within the graffiti scene, as it is so male dominated. It is still going strong and we now put on a yearly graffiti jam where we invite as many girls as possible to come and paint a massive space together.

I'm shocked and saddened to hear the news that Aussie train queen Lotus has sadly passed away. I used to chat to her here and there and had hoped to paint with her when I visited Australia. She was a real hardcore lady and inspired many writers over the years. I hope you are at peace and painting wherever you are xxx

Chock n Pixie reppin in Gateshead last weekend 23rd July for a "Studio Ghibli" themed jam to help raise money and awareness for Save the Children Japan with the GMC and the Ouseburn Festival.. We held an art auction in Tanners as we felt that the festival would attract a large amount of people to the area, on the day we raised £400 and we still have half the work to auction off online in the near future so hopefully we will double that total. Thanks to all artists who contributed in anyway and Sandy Duff and the Comusica family for all their continued support :)

Keep The Faith Review

Keep the Faith magazine has just released it's second issue and it's a definite improvement on the first. If you don't like graff you won't like this mag, but then you probably won't be reading this anyway unless you're BTP. It's a typical graffiti magazine and starts off with a mixture of colour and silver pannels for the first few pages, representing the UK graff scene well. There is a nice whole car spread and I loved the "these are the moments we live for" feature. I'd like to see more of this in future issues along with rants and arguments rather than just fast pannel after fast pannel as the standards are pretty average mostly. A good debate on the legalities of graff would be really interesting along with more info on current laws and legal loop holes would be good for many younger kids who clearly need skooling, or a piece from the 5-0 and what they actually think about the laws they have to enforce...
Liked a rats tale for sure..and cool to see my Free Dpm bus running :) and good one on the RIP sections too very important to remember lost friends. The Mean interview was great and there were some good pannels throughout . All in all a good UK mag for those that live it.Keep The Features.
